45. cut down縮減
用法：cut down還在“裁剪衣物”的意思 ， 且cut down可用于被動語態 。
例句：The Edwards should cut down on their living expenses. (2013年6月四級)
愛德華一家應該削減他們的花銷 。
語法點：“定冠詞+姓氏的復數形式” ， 一般表示一家人 。The Edwards是主語 ，  should cut down是謂語 ，  on their living expenses是狀語 。
46. cut off縮減
用法：cut off還有“中斷 ， 阻斷”的意思 。
例句：The roots of crops are cut off. (2013年12月六級)
莊稼的根被切斷了 。

用法：deal in后接名詞或者動名詞 ， 注意區分與deal with的區別 ， deal with表示“處理” 。

用法：cut away通常是指切除不想要或者是不必要的部分 ， away也可以用off或者down代替 。
