【一般現在時的用法】一般現在時表示通常性、規律性、習慣性、真理性的動作或狀態，常見用法如下：
1、表示經常性活習慣性的動作或存在的狀態。
I often go to school by bike.
2、表示客觀事實或普遍真理。
The earth goes around the sun.
3、一般現在時表將來
①謂語動詞是：come ， go ， arrive ， leave ， start ， begin ， return ， live ， fly 等，可以表示將來發生的動作。
The train leaves at six tomorrow morning.
②在時間或條件從句中，一般要用一般現在時表示將來，而不用一般將來時。
When Bill comes ， ask him to wait for me.
③謂語動詞是 hope ， take care that ， make sure that 等后的賓語從句中，用一般現在時表示將來。
I hope they have a nice time next week.
④這種時態可以和一個時間短語連用以表示已確定的、對將來的安排：
如：The boys start school on Monday．男孩們星期一開學。
4、在某些以here, there 開頭的句子(倒裝句)中用一般現在時表示正在發生的動作。
Here comes the bus. = The bus is coming.
5、一般現在時表過去
用于某些動詞（tell ， say ， hear ， learn ， gather等）表示不確定的過去時間：
John tells me you will leave tomorrow.約翰告訴我你明天離開。
當要陳述一個客觀事實時，有時即使有過去時間狀語也可用一般現在時：
The story is set in the summer of 1937. 故事的背景是1937年夏天。
